CATA Bus Service
For your convenience, CATA bus service to and from the Technology Support Building is provided throughout the day. CATA’s K Route includes stops around the Penn State campus, and to downtown State College and Cato Park.
Transportation Services is expanding its K Route CATABUS pass program to include all Enterprise IT employees. All Enterprise IT and Technology Support Building (TSB) employees can now register for a no-charge CATABUS pass for the K route, which serves TSB hourly and provides transportation to several campus and downtown State College stops.
Those interested in registering for a pass should contact Penn State IT Facilities at (814) 867-5253. Any questions can be sent to the Parking Office.
CATA offers free real-time mobile applications for both iPhone and Android users. Both CATA apps are available for free download through Google Play or the Apple App Store. Both current versions allow riders to view all of the CATABUS route maps, with current bus locations and bus stops on Google Map.
Bike Path
It is easy and safe to get to the Technology Support Building by bicycle. The bike path is a great alternative to the roadways between campus or downtown State College and TSB.
This 2.63 mile bike route begins at the Information Sciences and Technology Building on Burrowes Street, crosses the IST bridge, and proceeds on North Barnard Street to West Campus Drive. The route then follows along the Penn State Golf Course and Blue Course Drive, cuts across to Old Gatesburg Road and Science Park Road, and ends at the TSB parking lot.
Parking
Parking is available for TSB staff, Penn State employees, and outside guests to the building.
- All TSB staff are issued a virtual off-campus parking permit, unless no permit is required, at $14 per month.
- All guests to the building are required to use the Honk Mobile app to purchase hourly or daily parking.
*Motorcycles may occupy any of the TSB vehicle parking spaces.
Additionally, temporary use of campus parking permits and floater passes may be allowed. Contact your unit support staff to sign out, if applicable.
Please note, parking at TSB is limited. See the map for overflow parking areas that are available. We encourage carpooling and urge employees to leverage audio/video conferencing capabilities to avoid travel when possible.
If you have any questions regarding parking, please contact the Penn State Parking Office at parking@psu.edu or at 814-865-1436.
Visitor Parking at TSB
In an effort to provide parking access to all visitors of the Technology Support Building (TSB), Transportation Services is pleased to offer the Honk Mobile app.
All vehicles parked at the TSB parking lot must have a valid Penn State virtual parking permit at the time of their visit, or use the Honk Mobile app to purchase hourly or all-day parking.
NOTE: You are considered a “visitor” if you do not have a PSU parking permit.
Visitors may park in any non-reserved parking space in the lot upon arrival, and then should proceed to use the Honk Mobile app. Hourly and daily parking is available. Payment may be made with a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover).
All current Penn State virtual parking permits are valid throughout the day at the TSB parking lot, with the exception of the Evening/Weekend permit, which is valid only on weekdays after 4 p.m. and all day on Saturdays and Sundays.
If there are any questions, please contact the Parking Office by phone at 865-1436 or by email at parking@psu.edu.
